Very suspenseful MG read Robby s father makes him help rob graves to sell the bodies to a medical school in 1800s Philadelphia When Mr Burke and his young daughter rent some rooms at his family s boarding house, Robby is hopeful that his grave robbing days are over Little does he know that his life is going to get much complicated and much dangerous Burke is scary, and Robby is convincingly troubled, confused, and frightened by the new boarder Couldn t put this down

    6. A surprisingly dark in theme book about grave robbing, as well as standing up to your father other grown ups Includes some historical window dressing most interestingly the University of Philadelphia s medical school, and their need for corpses The writing was strong, but not beautiful Recommended.

    7. The grave robbers secret is a very interesting book,it is filled with mystery s and adventures You would never think that a father would teach his own son to dig up dead peoples graves would you Well me neither but in this story is does so read the book and find out what happens You would think its amazing.

    8. An interesting and somewhat scary historical fiction book set in Philadelphia I had known about grave robbing, but never thought that it might be the bodies that were being stolen I think it will not be difficult for me to find students to read this historical fiction book.

    9. The writing is a bit clunky, but the story is still pretty well told And what a story There is a little bit of history a little bit of suspense a little bit about family relationships and a very promising lead character.

    10. Although this book was well written and interesting, it was kind of a bummer I am a sucker for happy endings, and I would ve liked to have seen Robby s Honestly, I would ve liked a happy anything in this book.

    11. A solid book with a linear timeline Some of the characters dialogue seems forced and clunky Based on some actual grave robbing events in 1820 in Edinburgh, Scotland Could be used as a bouncing off point for discussions about the history of medical science, ethics, moral dilemmas, etc.

    12. 12 years old Robbie lives in fear of his father It is almost than he can bear when his father forces him to help dig up freshly buried bodies to sell to a medical school But when his family gets new boarders, Robbie fears their situation has grown even worse.

    13. I m not sure why I finished this book The writing is bad and it s a terrible example of historical fiction in children s literature Not good.

    14. This book was a pretty good book At times I found this book a little creepy frightening weird I don t think I would read it again though
