    1. 2.5 starsI really was hoping for a good read with this latest EW book The love story of Alex and Amelia seemed to take a back seat to the mystery of Anna and the family feud between the Hathaway and the St James families The limited amount of time that was devoted to our H and h was enjoyable to read, but I got a bit bored by the secondary characters of Aunt Sophia and Richard and the unraveling of the mystery It was just not that interesting or mysterious a friend called it, lots of filler Not [...]

    2. Be careful what you wish forYou know all those time when we Romance readers don t slide into denial mode, you know who you are whine about wanting honesty between our heroine and hero or we say, If only he she would have said something sooner or He she kept the secret w a y too long Well, my fellow readers, My Lord Scandal is a book that is full of honesty Yep, the two main characters talk to each other right from the beginning If anything happens, if any stumbling block is thrown out at any poi [...]

    4. I really liked the book but at some points it was a bit slow I liked both the HH in this book and the love scenes were on the hot side, that is alway s a plus for me, LOL The ending had a nice little twist that added to the story I will be reading the next book, Our Wicked Mistake when it comes out 10 5.

    5. Note This review, and all my reviews, comes from my blog Romantic Rose s Bookshelf romantic rosesblog Book 1 in the Notorious Bachelors SeriesThis book was unique The hero, Lord Alexander St James, and heroine, Lady Amelia Hathaway, communicated with each other for the entirety of the book Whenever an obstacle arose to their love, they discussed it Whenever one was insecure about something, they discussed it When they fell in love, they didn t wait until the end of the book to tell one another I [...]

    10. DNF Been there, done that story with yet another jaded hero and a virginal ZZZ worthy heroine.Side Note This cover must be the blahest cover of the year.

    11. Tiene un principio muy bonito y un final algo aburrido, aunque en general me gusta, es el t pico romance de Regencia con los paseos a caballo, las intrigas y los bailes Y tambi n original, que eso cuesta en el g nero.

    12. Original review posted at smexybooks 2010 09 revFavorite Quote Others may not know you, but I know you Lady Amelia has led a rather sheltered life in the country When her father brings her to London for her introduction to the ton she is an instant success Dubbed the Elusive Venus , her beauty commands sonnets and brings fortune hunter out of the woodwork But Amelia isn t interested in being married off She hates crowds and merely wants to go back to the country When she retires early one evenin [...]

    13. Like curling up in a nice soft blanket on a crisp fall day, My Lord Scandal, the first installment of Emma Wilde s Notorious Bachelors series, left me warm, feeling good and ready to cozy up to the upcoming bachelors in the series.Lady Amelia Patton has arrived in London at her father s request to be presented to society and all the eligible bachelors at the ton Used to the easy, carefree country life, Amelia is far from excited about her father s insistence that she attend the seasonal balls in [...]

    14. I became an instant fan of Emma Wildes when I read her Lessons from a Scarlet Lady, loving the freshness of the story This book isn t far behind that one, giving us lively and interesting characters, a romance that is a treat for the heart, and a mystery with a twist to cap things off.I really like the beginning of this book Alexander has brought along his good friend Michael to break and enter into the home of a nobleman to retrieve something that belongs to Alex s family, at least per his gran [...]

    15. I am officially an Emma Wildes fan After reading this as well as Lessons From a Scarlet Lady, which I highly recommend, Wildes is a must read for me The characters were extremely well developed, there was some mystery, a long standing family feud, and a heroine not afraid to be smart as well as a hero who appreciated said smarts GASP I loved everything about Alex He has grown up the third son of a duke, and loves it that way He has no desire to inherit the title, but not because he is afraid of [...]

    16. Ms Wildes has done a wonderful job of bringing us a story of three best friends, Lord Alexander St James in My Lord Scandal , Luke Daudet, Viscount Altea in Our Wicked Mistake and Michael Hepburn, Marquess of Longhaven in His Sinful Secret All three have survived the Napoleonic Peninsular War and are now trying to get back to the life they were meant to lead There is plenty of romance, intrigue and mystery in all three stories. In the first book, My Lord Scandal , we meet our first Hero Lord Alex [...]

    17. My Lord Scandal Notorious Bachelors by Emma Wildes Historical Romance Sept 7th, 2010 4 stars This was an enjoyable Regency The hero was a dashing rake with hidden depths and the heroine is an angelic beauty with brains and a curious disability The story starts out as the dashing Alexander St James is attempting to steal a key from the Lady Amelia s townhouse in London But sudden passion buds when Lady Amelia unexpectedly arrives home early Alex secretly spies her undressing and is struck by her [...]

    18. The title is awful, the novel is excellent In this first novel of Emma Wildes Notorious Bachelors trilogy, there s murder, mystery, intrigue, beautifully developed characters, and a story line that will keep you guessing until the end While Wildes employs some of the traditional tropes of the Regency romance subgenre, she applies and explores them in such ways that they feel fresh and innovative The book is filled with humor so much so that I laughed aloud several times and, joy of joys, an actu [...]

    19. Emma Wildes is fast becoming a favorite author of mine.I like the fact that her books at least the three I ve read so far are not extremely angst filled, which is a nice change of pace I find them quite relaxing They make me smiled sometimes laugh out loud. This book included I loved the fact that the two lead characters actually communicated with each other the whole way through the book There was no giant misunderstand between the two that kept them apart or any of the other regular conflict in [...]

    20. This was an interesting tale of mystery, friendship and love I was smitten with Lord St James aka Alex He wasn t extremely seductive as I like but he was a smooth operator indeed I thought the connection between Amelia and Alex was a good and at times sexy However, I wish she could have been a little mature in certain areas I enjoyed their banter and closeness I wish the story in all had a little adult texture, not necessarily sex but not so adolescent either Now for the mystery, I felt it too [...]

    21. I m going to have to order some of Emma Wildes novels because I thoroughly enjoyed this story Its refreshing to read a romance where the hero and the heroine are honest with each other and don t try to deny or destroy their feelings for each other You can almost feel the chemistry between Alexander and Amelia and wanted them to find a way to be together despite their families disapproval of each other. It also kept me interested until the end as to why their families hated each other and the mys [...]

    22. The stories of three English soldiers friends who ve been changed by their experiences during the long war with Napoleon Bonaparte One was a British spy working undercover in Spain His capture and torture by the French nearly cost him his life If not for his last ditch rescue by his two friends, he would not have survived War changes the people involved in it These books show how each friend must adapt back into society But for one of them, his self doubts and mistrust may prevent him from re le [...]

    23. All around a very enjoyable read I loved the characters and the fact they did not play games and were quite open and honest with each other I love the slight mystery the lovers found themselves entwined in those found love letters were sooo romantically good I will say towards the end, it feels like the author rushed things and wrapped everything up too quickly and too neatly but with that said, I think this is probably the best regency romance I ve read this year.

    24. I should not allow what the cover looks like to affect my enjoyment of the book within but I did with this one The storyline was just mediocre for me The hero descrbed in the book looked nothing like the cover and it was really bugging me as the hero supposedly had silky locks whilst the cover showed a well cropped gentleman Had the story been captivating, I suppose I could have gotten over the marked difference in appearances Sigh.

    25. Notorious Bachelors series Alexander St James may be a thief of hearts, but he is no burglar He must recover an item blonging to his family to avoid a scandal, and so he has stolen into the home of Lord Hathaway, not expecting to come upon the beguiling Lady Amelia Patton in her bedroom, wearing only a lacy chemise. From their first meeting Alexander leaves Amelia breathless He ignores the schadalous whispers as he sets out to seduce the woman of his dreams

    26. Nice story about two intelligent and sensible people who also happen to be beautiful and rich falling in love A bit of a Romeo Juliet feel to the story because their families have a long standing hatred for each other The mystery part was not that interesting, though, and the picture on the cover doesn t look at all like what I imagined the hero to look like as I was reading the book.

    27. What I liked about this book is that while it is a romance, it is not your stereotypical, formulaic romance There is a mystery, but there is not some dramatic misunderstanding that leads to some dramatic rescue that you so often find in regency romances This is one of those books that I can read again and again because it is such a sweet and tender love story.
