Sadly, this one s composed of cardboard characters which are impossible to care for or invest in Sheila York seems to have some ideas about how a mystery writer is supposed to write, but has no compulsive need to tell a story herself She immediately introduces the vague amateur sleuth who is immediately introduced to the lady who immediately becomes the murder victim and we immediately meet all the characters who could have done the deed Then we slooooowly wander around for three hundred plain p [...]

    2. People are awfully chatty and trusting in these books Lauren asks a single question and everybody just blabs on and on about exactly what she wants to know Nobody seems to think it odd that a relative stranger is so interested.

    3. I thought this was a fun read for a rainy afternoon An old time mystery with a cast of characters who had motives Not crazy serial killers

    4. An interesting mystery but didn t have quite the distinctive capturing of place that made the first one work so well Still, it was worth reading and I would read by Sheila York.
