    1. This book is a drastic improvement over the first book in this series, Birdie s Book The author introduced the world of Aventurine, in that earlier tome, as a profoundly disjointed, confusing, and intentionally vague dream school for fairy godmother s in training where both Birdie and Kerka had unclear roles to play in resolving a vague shadow world which was destroying plant life and nature In Kerka s Book , the plot and presentation were far organized, clear, focused, and understandable makin [...]

    2. Like her mother before her, Kerka Laine is one of the last members of the Pax Lineage fairy godmothers. She and her sisters, Rona and Biba, always knew that they would one day be able to travel to the land of Aventurine to unlock their magical powers and become true fairy godmothers in the making, but their mother passed away before she could teach them the skills they would need to master before making their journey. In the aftermath of her mother s death, Rona and Kerka were sent to America to l [...]

    3. Although these books aren t the most well written ever ever, the writing is really not bad, and I fully admit that I find them refreshing So many serials for kids are awful in their redundancy, and so far these avoid that The stories are about young girls pre teen attempting to find themselves and their places within their own lives and their families This book, in particular, has some lovely things to say about grieving and dreaming and inter family relationships and how our own actions can aff [...]

    4. The is the second book in The Fairy Godmother Academy series where young girls train to be fairy godmothers, of a sort What they really are would be better described as helpers, people who have affinities with certain things and can us that to help others Aventurine is the place where the girls are trained Kerka is thirteen and has been there once, but this time she s there for her test She has to find her sister s missing voice To do this she ends up teaming up with a horse and gets advice from [...]

    5. Technically this is Kerka s second adventure into Aventurine She first traveled with Birdie in the first book of the fairy godmothers academy This time we learn about Kerkas family which is a long line of fairy godmothers including her mother who has passed on Her mother was suppose to teach her and her sisters the beginning training of being a fairy godmother I enjoy this series I find it very different than most fairy series There is a lot of detail into each girls speciality The first book Bi [...]

    6. Overall, this book was better than the first The writing abilities were greatly improved though not stellar I was actually interested in seeing where this book would go, even though there were portions I was tempted to skip through Unfortunately, when it came to the animal spirits of each fairy godmother in the making, it was so reminiscent of portions of The Golden Compass And the peace of opposites and make it sound like the zen version of fairy tales I was just really put off by it all.
