    1. The book I read was called Invasion of The Road Weenies , which is one of the Weenies Series I liked the fact that the book had many different little stories My book had a total of 35 tiny stories, some stories were only two pages long Most of the stories where silly and offbeat but some had a creepy and weird ending I liked the variety of stories my book offered It definitely keeps the reader entertained and guessing what kind of story is coming up next I think the Weenies series is appropriat [...]

    2. I saw this book on a shelf at school and had to grab it just because of the title Lawn weenies This is a book of short stories for children They are creepy and rather Twilight Zone like The first two kind of made me wonder what I d picked up to read because they were creepy and I thought that little children everywhere would be creeped out After reading a few of them, I started to see a pattern and the humor in them A child might feel the same way, creeped out at first, and then feel high intere [...]

    3. He makes everything so real, but it is still fiction In The Land of Lawn Weenies is a bunch of stories that David Lubar made up He puts funny, mystery, scary, and weitd in a good way stories. One of them are the land of the lawn weenies There all really fun.

    4. I have a strong memory of reading this book in the back of the car on a family roadtrip years and years ago Judging by the publication date, I was probably about ten or eleven years old, and it absolutely freaked me out I still remember some of the stories to this day, and I was disappointed when I couldn t find like it at the library a good sign that even from a young age I had the whole scared but enjoying it reaction to horror Since it s October, when I ve made a point the last few years of [...]

    5. This book is great for students who have a hard time getting into reading Through David Lubar s use of short stories it allows for a wide range of characters and adventures I loved how some stories had a lesson learned at the end while others kept the reading guessing I think this book would be great for lesson plans on writing short stories Lunar writes from a child s point of view and knows their thoughts on school, friends, bullies, and life in general Know that before allowing a student to r [...]

    6. Predating Matheson, King, Bradbury, Jackson chronologically, in terms of my age actually the most recently published Most likely inspired by these authors, and certainly left an impression on me at a young age book fairs in my elementary and middle school libraries Hiding a book under my desk to read when the teacher wasn t looking I must ve reread this tattered paperback several times over, because I explicitly remember each story Favorites Hide what s in a cow , The Slide insectile revulsion, [...]

    7. Spoiler Alert Laura s dad in the book said he would never be a lawn weenie but, Laura saw that his dad ordered A Lawnmaster 3000 or also known as a lawn mower maybe, he might be one of them In the Land of Lawn Weenies and other Warped and Creepy Tales is a fantasy because the people in the story are not humans they are weenies The book is ok but, it has other stories in the book not just about the lawn weenies. In the story, Laura wants his dad not to be a lawn weenie because he is just going to [...]

    8. I had to ILL this book because Phoenix PL did not own it I always am surprised when I have to do this, and somewhat irritated as well This is because other editions of the books in this series are owned, so why not the first one I had listened to Battle of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on book on CD and found it very enjoyable When I read a book out of sequence, I try to go back and start the series When I listened to Battle , I didn t realize at first that it was a compilation of separate stories I [...]

    9. The book In the land of the lawn weenies and other warped tales was just a book with different stories with different themes The book was very interesting it s like one of those books that you can t stop reading because you really want to know what happens next The book was sort of good, but some of the stories either weren t funny or was trying to be funny but nobody couldn t understand what was so funny about it The book was basically a marathon of twilight zone for kids in book version One of [...]

    10. I think that In The Land Of The Lawn Weenies and Other Warped and Creepy Tales is a good book because it has different chapters about different stories. The book is very well made I find it interesting because of all the stories it had and because of what they are about anyway let s get to the stories. The stories I read was about this one kid who found something small like a firefly in his backyard it was telling him to let her go but he didn t did one night she escaped and now he said that he ne [...]

    11. This was one of my favorite books as a younger child, and as I reread it, I enjoyed it just as much, maybe even I especially like David Lubar s ability to write horror stories for children that are not that scary, but mainly funny I feel that when I read this book, several years ago, I was scared, or at least creeped out, but when I read it again, it was funny One of my favorite stories from this book was Light as a feather, stiff as a board , where children are sitting in a circle, trying to c [...]

    12. This is a cool book It is about many kids who get in mishaps, and most of the time, deserved it Stories include a guy who locks a kid in a tree, a monster who makes people forget things, and a fairy haunting a kid The David Lubar sequel called the Road Weenies, is also an awesome book And if I ll overload you at all, I will now If you read those two, you better read The Campfire Weenies, or else. These kids are brats I mean who honestly goes into a house filled with snakes at midnight Who asks wh [...]

    13. 15. I first heard about this series three years ago My english teacher would read some of these stories to us when we had some free time It was amazing So I had decided to read the rest of the books in this series, and I am so in love with these books He makes these stories seem so real even though they re fictious The only one I still need to read would be Vampire Weenies I m looking forward to reading it

    16. In the Land of the Lawn Weenies and Other Warped and Creepy Tales is an interesting book Every chapter is a new story This book is full of surprises and it is one of the creepiest books that I ve ever read You never know what s going to happen in this book Every story is unique in its own way Thank you David Lubar for writing this book.

    17. Um, this book was my little brothers and I decided to read it to escape from the old english style of the book i m currently reading Curse Dark As Gold First off it ISN T scary Very predictable Kinda creepy IN A WAYbut not scary enough to give you nightmares I d recommend this to some weird fourth fifth grader who likes warped stories that don t make any sense.

    18. After reading so many literary short stories for my MFA, I had forgotten what a plain old good story looks like Lubar is a natural storyteller, manages pace precisely, and, above all, entertains This is a middle grade collection that I recommend to both middle graders Katie and adults alike.

    19. this book is so messed up tbhedit it s been like 6 years since I read this book and I m still not over that one story about the crizzles like it literally fucked with me I m not kidding people like if you or your child is going to read it please BE WARy

    20. This book will have you part time laughing and part time giving you goosebumps This book will send chills down your back I do not think kids under the age of 9 should read this If you like creepy tales, then this book is calling your name So don t be a weenie Read this book

    21. I remember reading this book when I was 11 12 years old and let me tell you, it is one of the funniest books you will ever read The stories are short, which is great for anyone with a short attention span, not much time for reading, or just looking for a quick laugh.

    22. A cool, new, and totally creepy short story collection from author David Lubar I picked up this book and read it front to back in less than 3 hours If you want a good story to read in the dark, look no further.

    23. If you like The Twilight Zone and old school horror, then this is the book for you I don t really care for these and so I found the book uncomfortably creepy I thought this would be a parody or would spoof horror stories It doesn t Lubar is striving for horror.

    24. This collection of adolescent horror short stories reminds me of short articles in a kid s magazine The stories are quaint and spooky, barely scary and startling A great first horror book for a young elementary school kid.

    25. All of the creepy tales were interesting The one that was the most interesting to me was The Vampire s Rat, because the ending made me think furthur What happens when everyone gets turn in to a vampire

    26. The Book had me racing to turn the pages, filled with good humor as well as some heart racing horror topics Very good young adult book.

    27. Strange and enjoyable short stories, especially appealing to boys of all ages, in my case I d expect them to go over well after recess in 3 6 grades.Highly recommended.

    28. Amazing short story author Stories range from horror, to sci fi, to fantasy, and , and every one is a winner Don t judge this book by its cover or title.
