    12. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the cozy mystery genre is the variety of setting and background Zara Keane s Dial P for Poison is the first in a series set on a small island off the coast of Ireland, featuring Maggie Doyle, who grew up in California but spent childhood summers visiting relatives on Whisper Island Recently divorced from both her cheating husband and the San Francisco Police Department, Maggie is has come back to help her Aunt Noreen run the Movie Theater Cafe, and maybe to h [...]

Maggie hadn t set foot on Whisper Island for over ten years, her father had been born there and she had spent many happy childhood summers visiting her relatives, especially her aunt Noreen who s cafe she would be helping in while Noreen recovered from surgery It was a perfect idea what could possibly go wrong The local newspaper columnist Sandra Walker is not well liked on the island due to her nasty gossip column but who would hate her enough to kill her Actually, there s no shortage of suspec [...]

This is the first in the series but since I read the second one first, it s my second story by this author I love the way these are written They are fast paced and keep you turning pages The main character, Maggie comes to Whisper Island to visit her Aunt Noreen and recover from the day that ended her career and her marriage There is a murder and they accuse Maggie s aunt Maggie, a retired cop sets out to clear her aunt and the story begins I can t wait to see what Maggie does next.

    18. First book in the series is a home run This is the kind of sleuth I love feisty female with a bit of a back story that is going to resurface along the way Great setting a island off the coast of Ireland The first Movie Club Mystery introduced us to a plethora of interesting characters not your usual suspects I loved the emphasis of place and community in this book Right up my alley Definitely will keep reading.

    19. This book captivated me right from the start I really liked Maggie and her aunt Noreen When I discovered that Maggie was in the police in the States, I knew that she would work to solve the murder that occurred in her aunt s movie club meeting, especially since the local policeman was incompetent, to say the least There were other wonderful characters in the book and I can t wait to read of the series The second book is out and I hope that the author Zara Keane writes several .

    20. A MAZE ING Keane always blows me out of the waterfia, romance and murder mystery, she has got them all in the bag In our introduction to Maggie and eventually Liam usually referred to as Reynolds we fall in love, pretty much immediately, with Maggie And when Reynolds arrives on his Harley, in his leathers SWOON another four letter l word comes to mind, lolI can t wait to read their next adventure

    21. FantasticI love a good murder mystery and I really enjoyed this book The writing was well done with a great plot, background information and characters Maggie was a great sleuth who knew her stuff, was level headed and didn t just stumble into discovering things like some do I loved the town and the secondary characters.

    22. Irish Eyes Not SmilingI was pleasantly surprised by this book By the end of the first page I was hooked and could not stop until the last page So many very endearing characters peopled the story and the heroine, Maggie, was a delight The mystery was interesting and the murderer a complete surprise.

    23. ZARA KEANEI enjoyed the book very much You get an America cop in a small Irish village and a nasty victim I was rooting for whoever murdered her to get away I know, I know LOVED the cafe theme Getting a free book is like getting a box of chocolates to almost quote Forrest but this was definitely one of the best in the box Judy

    24. Go to Ireland solve a murder After giving up her job and a bad marriage, Maggie moves to Ireland to help out an Aunt and ends up solving the murder of an old acquaintance Of course, it helps that Maggie is an ex cop and the local law isn t much to brag about I think it would be a good idea to read the next book too.

    25. This is the first book I ve read by Zara Keene and it won t be the last I immediately purchased the others in the series when I finished this one Loved Maggie and all the other supporting characters It s a quick entertaining read

    26. Author Zara Keane s Dial P For Poison is a slow moving cozy mystery In spite of being a little too wordy for my taste in some places, the book was both enjoyable and moderately difficult to solve Yes, I would recommend the book to other cozy fans.

    27. This was a really fun cozy mystery, set in Ireland in a bakery sweet shop created out of an old movie theater I just wanted to live in this small Irish village with the likable and not so likable characters and, of course, befriend our heroine detective

    28. FunFun, exciting Adventure at every turn Maggie and her aunts, cousins and friends are delightful Makes me want to visit Ireland.

    29. Dial O for PoisonA nice cozy style mystery to read Enjoyable, entertaining and fun to find and follow the facts and where they lead to.
