    1. So it s time for me to own up to the fact that I like fun books Girly books Highschool nostalgia books CHICK BOOKS.Cause I ve been waaaaay too intellectual to read any fun stuff It was all a no no, cause I mean, you ve got to read all the tough stuff so everyone knows you sleep with your smarty pants on Don t you, Evelina. But here s the truth You DO like girly books Admit it And you liked this one.If anyone else thinks they might have this dark secret in their hearts, then you are free to read t [...]

    2. 3 3.5 starsLiz Czukas is the queen of cute and fluffy Plus, the nostalgia is strong with this one It brought back so many of my own high school memories Although Mariska was a little dramatic for me, by the end I was really rooting for her I especially loved her with Caine, and the ending was perfect

    3. I have loved all of Liz s books and she writes some of the best banter, so I was ridiculously excited to get the chance to read this early.I liked Mariska She s a little crazy with the memories and the sentimentality, but somehow it works I loved her friends especially Sun and Caine surprise surprise and all of the do over events. There was a bit of drama and a lot of crying, but there was also a lot of banter And I seriously thrive on banter.Overall, a quick and cute read with a satisfying endin [...]

    4. Initial Impressions 12 6 16 Probably a solid four stars I ve read everything Liz Czukas has written and loved them all THROWING MY LIFE AWAY was one of the most realistic contemporary stories that was on the fluffier side i.e not dealing with serious life issues Liz Czukas did a great job of bringing the average teen to life The friendships were fun but not over the top The crushes were superficial and then something The parental relationships were complicated, but not too serious for the tone [...]

    5. This is a cute book it s a quick read, and it s entertaining I like the main character, Mariska, and her friends are good minor characters The plot arc is consistent, and the story moves forward well I like the concept, too Mariska s stepdad accidentally sends a box of her mementos to the shredder Mariska is really sentimental and having a hard time about going away to college in two weeks Losing her photos and birthday cards, ticket stubs, and the negatives from her stint as the school newspape [...]

    6. THIS BOOK IS SO PRECIOUS But importantly, it s such a me book and I absolutely loved every bit of it.I m convinced Mariska is the fictional version of myself she s a fan of 35mm film photos and keeping negatives, was the school newspaper photographer, and very much sentimental about high school I instantly connected with her and it helped that Liz wrote her voice to be so effortless and realistic and straightforward.I really liked reading about the high school friendships in the story and was t [...]

    7. I really enjoyed the first two YA books by this author They went on my favorites list Then she started writing NA and I didn t care for those but I m not much of a NA fan in general I was excited to see that she had written another YA book since it has been a while and was eager to read it.This book was pretty good but it wasn t as good for me as her first two books It s hard to put my finger on what was different but I think there was a little humor and quirkiness in her first two books I love [...]

    8. This was a 3 star read for me I thought it was a sweet story but the MC had some issues I couldn t get past Super, Super fast read but it was not my favorite Czukas story.Full review can be found here agingerlyreview.wordpressI discovered the amazingness that is Liz Czukas books I devoured her other two stories, Top Ten Clues You re Clueless and Ask Again Later, late last year and knew she would be an instabuy author for me When I found out she had a new book, I couldn t wait to get by grubby ha [...]

    9. I really liked this one I loved Mariska s growth and her best friend Sun was fab Also the slow build romance was really well done.

    10. What a fun read I especially enjoyed the attempts at re creating some of the lost pics, and how they became new memories for Mariska and crew Super imaginative my favorites were the ninja scene no spoilers here and the constant back and forth with the yearbooks between Mariska and Caine This story should connect with any newly graduated high schooler anxious about letting go of the familiar and branching out toward the next chapter of college and or beyond Sweet romantic tension between the cute [...]

    11. Liz Czukas did it again Another book, another epic story The review may be a bit chaotic, sorry, my emotions are still running all over the place Memories, a last summer, friendship, and romance Mariska was such a fun, lovable character A tiny bit overdramatic, then again I think I would also flip out if someone would throw away all my memories From pictures to movie stubs, to negatives She lost everything Luckily for her she lives in the digital age and thus a lot of her pictures were still fin [...]

    12. A humorous young adult story that will have Mariska attempting to recreate all the memories from high school when her stepfather accidentally throws away her mementos With the help from Caine she will discover that while she is trying to recreate her past, she is missing what is right in front of her and the present You never can tell what s going to matter in the future, and slowly but surely I m learning to love that The only thing I can do is keep my eyes open and pay attention.I won a signed [...]

    13. 3.5 5I was really looking forward to this book because I LOVE Liz Czukas s other two YA novels, but I just didn t get very attached to the characters I just felt like I was in Mariska s head TOO MUCH of the time, and it made it hard to like her Plus, there were so many secondary characters that don t really get proper introductions and are just name dropped throughout the book I mean, I get that they re Mariska s other friends and show that she has a larger social group than just Sun, but I like [...]

    14. Throwing My Life Away is a glimpse into days past and a reminder to live in the present Liz Czukas captures the essence of high school and the nostalgia of childhood in a tale that could have been my own if I actually remembered to take photographs Mariska, the main character, is lucky to have such amazing friends that help her see that although the past was wonderful, the present and future hold so much The pack rat in me was horrified and enlightened by Mariska s story My husband thanks you L [...]

    15. This story is beyond adorable.I just wished there were Caine Mariska moments.Unlike some YAs which are often filled with angstis one light and easy to read It s your typical highschool experience. The romance is sweet nostalgic, just like highschool It s not sexually charged and complicated and when they finally got together, I found myself sighing with Caine, you knowe contented sigh D

    16. Not being the sentimental sort, I got pretty annoyed with the main character and her emotional roller coaster And if she is so tuned into her feelings, why did it take the entire book to realize the person she should be dating Blah.

    17. Find my review also on my blog Thank you to Liz Czukas for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review If I had to review this book using a single word I would choose fun This was the first book by Liz Czukas I ve ever read, through I ve had her previous books on my TBR for what seems like ages, so I was excited when Liz emailed me to ask if I d be interested in reviewing this one I really enjoyed Mariska s narration and her sentimentality and how important memories and her lost p [...]

    18. Loved it My favorite Liz Czukas book yet Full review to comeUpdated Full Review You guys, this book is seriously cute I was originally a little worried because I hadn t love Liz Czukas last couple of New Adult romances written under Ellie Cahill but I really enjoyed her Young Adult books So I wasn t really sure what to expect Plus, I completely admit, I wasn t totally in love with the synopsis I was worried it would be completely cheesy or too ridiculous or just too young But it wasn t any of th [...]

    19. Given how much I loved Czukas debut novel Ask Again Later and really enjoyed the follow up Top Ten Clues You re Clueless, I was so excited to hear that she was writing another young adult book, after doing a couple new adult novels Throwing My Life Away wasn t quite the bantery delight of her first two YA novels, but it s a good read about memory and what really matters. My main difficulty here is that I just happened to read this book directly after Lauren Gibaldi s sopho novel, Autofocus, which [...]

    20. Mariska is a few weeks away from starting her freshman year at college when her stepfather accidentally throws away all of her photos and mementos While she is given copies of photos taken by her friends, that isn t quite enough for sentimental Mariska She decides to recreate some of her favorite high school memories in order to get back some of what she has lost Only, it might not be that easy to duplicate a special moment in time.Even though I graduated from high school a few years okay like [...]

    21. Do you remember all the conflicting emotions you experienced right before you went away to college That gray area between being a child and adult Knowing you ve grown in high school but also knowing you have so much to learn Imagine if you had to face that next chapter of your life without the mementos you d planned to have sustain you through the adjustment period, the homesickness, and all the change It would be worth trying to recreate the mementos, right I really enjoyed traveling with Mari [...]

    22. Liz Czukas does it again with another fun, adorably crazy read Mariska entertained me with her get back my photo moments quest Who doesn t like ninja kite flying or fake prom I loved beta hero Caine, and his tug of war with Mariska over yearbook ownership Czukas makes her characters and plot unique and hilarious This story was a great, refreshing read.

    23. This was a warm and wonderful trip back to high school It was cute, funny, and heart warming Highly recommend.

    24. Liz Czukas has done it again She has created a story filled with characters you wish were your own real life friends What an enjoyable read from start to finish.
