I read tons of horsey books as a kid If it had anything to do with horses, I read it Somebody s Horse was one of my favorites Jenny takes responsibility for Farfalla, spends her money on him, spends her time with him, nurses him, cares for him, trains him short, everything I wished I could do Jenny is a great character She s hot tempered, headstrong, and sometimes selfish, a combination that often lands her in trouble But she s also great with her cousin s young kids and willing to work hard She [...]

I enjoyed this book very much Granted, I love horses, so that is likely the reason But this book does teach good lessons about honesty, self sacrifice, and knowing when to share your troubles with others.Entire plot summary A teenage girl moves in with her widowed cousin s house while her parents are on vacation She had dreamed of a summer of lessons on her neighborhood barn s fancy jumping horse, but instead has to care for her cousin s children and the horse that was left at their newly bought [...]

    3. This was one of my favorite books as a child, and after rereading it at 32, I m happy to say it held up nicely.
