This is the second book I have read by this author and I will definitely read every subsequent one he writes It has its inspiration in the heartbreaking true story of Emmett Till, a 14 year old African American boy who was lynched in 1955 Some of you may even remember that The story unfolds in the present day and through flashbacks to the stirrings of the civil rights movement You can read Caves in the Rain first to meet the main characters although Deadly Kiss stands solidly on its own Having r [...]

A magnificent book, full of lush prose, memorable characters, fascinating insights into what makes people s lives go awry and what rights them again Deadly Kiss is one of those books that leaves you full as you turn the last page, but knowing you ll think about the story long into the future It s easy to see why International Thriller Writers awarded this the Best First Novel Bickford is a major talent I ll be reading his books as fast as he can deliver them.
