    1. Now whole I do really and truly love the detailed and intricate animal illustrations and generally also appreciate how the information is presented especially having words that might prove difficult explained at the bottom of the letter entries and not relegated to the back as a glossary, as is so often the case , I do feel that there could have been a bit at least supplemental information provided and really, for an alphabet book, the text of Paul Kratter s The Living Rain Forest does sadly an [...]

    2. Kratter has selected a variety of rain forest dwelling animals mammals, reptiles, birds, fish, insects to describe These animals live in many areas of the world, from South America to Australia Each animal is painted in watercolors and acrylics, and placed in a square on the page, with its popular name, its scientific name, and its size underneath the illustration The paintings are very beautiful, the animals look realistic, and many of them are quite colorful On the facing page is a brief descr [...]

    3. This is an ABC book that uses animals of the rainforest for each letter of the alphabet It could be used for younger students who are still working with the alphabet but some of the animals vocabulary may be difficult for them I think that it would work best for older students 3rd who are studying biomes Each letter has and animal ex Okapi for O The book also gives a short bit of info for each animal, including a vocab word that most students probably will not know ex prehensile Adapted for grab [...]

    4. Gorgeous acrylic and watercolor illustrations are the highlight of this rainforest alphabet book The vibrant colors and realistic details on each animal are fanatastic and we really liked looking at each entry Our youngest recently created her own animal alphabet book, so it was interesting to compare the representative animals chosen Some of the animals are pretty obscure, compared to typical alphabet books featuring animals.Overall, the information is fairly basic and the details are not overw [...]

    5. The illustrations accompanying each animal in this alphabet book are beautiful I liked the simple paragraphs accompanying each letter of the alphabet that described a bit about each animal Also included were some definitions that defined possible unknown vocabulary e.g echolocation, nocturnal I wish that each page had also included a small map of the world indicating where each animal was found, since flipping back and forth between the pages and the inside covers was annoying.

    6. A nice mix of animals from a variety of tropical rain forests are presented with a short description of each Many of the animals will be familiar to readers but there are some that were less familiar or unfamiliar to me such as the Hawaiian honeycreeper, the xenops, and the yapok The letter of the alphabet, the name of the animal and its description are on one side of each double page spread with a nice illustration on the other side.

    7. The Living Rain Forest An Animal Alphabet is a letter learning book written and illustrated by Paul Kratter First, I loved the incredible amount of detail on the bordered front and back cover The inside cover on front and back featured a world map with a guide next to it so that the children can see where the animals that they are reading about in this book live All of the illustrations were done in acrylic or watercolor and have incredible detail My main critique for this book is that it did no [...]

    8. I think The Living Rain Forest An Animal Alphabet is a great book for beginner readers It incorporates both an ABC style and an informational side about the animals I think it may have included a little too much information about the animals and it may push away some young readers The illustrations were awesome and I loved that he put a lot of detail into every single one They were done in watercolor and were very engaging Even the front and back cover were very well detailed I liked how while t [...]

    9. The Living Rainforest An Animal Alphabet by Paul Kratter is an awesome book about different animals It is beautifully illustrated with vibrant colors This book also gives vocab words that most students probably will not know I think this is a fun book to read to your class and talk about The information about the animals is easy to read and it is a great way to learn about different animals I definitely recommend reading this

    10. This book is written in a very cool way Each page is a letter and has an animal from the rainforest that starts with that letter The illustrations are very good too This is a good way to introduce spelling and letter association Also, a good way to learn about different animals You could use this in science or spelling because there are many different ways you could go with this book.

    11. Originally published in 2004, this is a reissue from Charlesbridge Beautiful illustrations, well written, informative text.

    12. Good book that teaches about fun rainforest animals and the alphabet Liked it for kids learning the alphabet

    13. This alphabet book is full of really cool rainforest animals, and some of them are less commonly known, which is pretty cool Each animal is illustrated with watercolor and acrylic and is bleeding out over a white border They are labeled with their scientific name and size which is really cool, because it can put them into a greater context, and make the reading advanced In addition to the rhythmic text that could be read aloud, there are also defined vocabulary words throughout the book, which [...]
