    1. It was not a bad start The art was kind of dated but not that bad and the action was very over the top at some panels The story was easy to follow, simple and abit naive There was some unexpacted gore, i wouldn t expect such a level of gore from a shounen I started to read Jojo because i heard that the manga will be very good in the future parts, especially starting with Part 3 Stardust Crusaders But the part 1 was not bad for sure, if you can look over some naive parts of the story, they were s [...]

    2. JoJo s Bizarre Adventure is one of the longest running and most popular manga in Japan, starting out in 1986 and still going strong to this day But the history of JoJo in the west is far from simple, and for the most part kind of unsatisfactory But this could finally be changing.JoJo is currently on Part 8 in Japan, and to date the only complete part published physically in the west is Part 3 Stardust Crusaders, which stars Jotaro Kujo, who is subsequently the most well known of the JoJo s in th [...]

    3. I read this on the recommendation of a teen at the library, who wanted to share this weird comic where the men are all drawn in the ridiculously sexualized way that women in most superhero comics are I enjoyed reading this, and it s definitely different I don t know if I ll be picking up volumes anytime soon, though, I m not feeling into reading things that are serialized these days, plus I feel that non graphic novels give me bang for my buck That s not something I always feel, I like comics [...]

    4. gonna give this 5 stars because it was amazing amazingly over the top there were ne er punches punchier, hatred hatier, artifacts powerful and bloodthirsty, etc Hard to describe how delightful this is.

    6. Video review now available youtube watch v hWXjB5 out of 5 stars. This manga was NOT what I expected in the slightest, and I am so glad for that, because it almost feels like a lot of animes and mangas I look at lately seem to blend together, with a few exceptions. If you re wondering what JoJo s Bizzare Adventure is about, let me break it down for you It takes place in the time period of the 1880s and revolves all around two characters Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando who are connected because of [...]

    7. After reading this book I was so eager to read the next volume of this critically acclaimed series The author Hirohiko Araki story telling makes you always look forward to turning the page and knowing that you ll won t be disappointed His art style makes it easier to know what is going on and at the visuals pull you in into the book and you just can t stop reading This manga shows us the story of a bloodline called the JoeStars staring with the father of the main protagonist of this volume in th [...]

    8. Jonathan Joestar is a young boy living a happy life in his father s mansion when his new adopted brother, Dio Brando, arrives JoJo is known for sticking up to bullies and defending women, but Dio begins their relationship by viciously kicking his dog His inexplicable torment continues from there, and both their lives are forever changed This is the first volume in a legendary, iconic manga series, which is one of the longest running and most popular series in Japan to date It began in 1986 and i [...]

    10. This first volume was filled to the brim with way OTT character designs and crazy action reaction scenes that were mostly hard to read though I am willing to make some allowances for something created in the late 80s The story was basic at best, but somehow I still want to read , especially as many people say that Araki was merely warming up with Phantom Blood It certainly helps that the physical volumes themselves are things of beauty 3.25 stars.

    11. Hmm I wanted to get perspective on the live action film, but this didn t do it There are characters named Dio and Speedwagon I think that says enough.

    12. Well, I m not the demographic for this book, but I was willing to give it a good shot My young son in law recommended it when I asked for a best seller from a genre I don t normally read Popsugar 2017 challenge I used to be a graphic novels snob, thinking they were shallow and childish until Echo and Wonderstruck converted me regarding the medium s potential And while vampire zombie werewolf stories are not my usual choice of entertainment I just find it overwhelmingly overdone these days , I m [...]

    13. Actual rating 2.5 stars. When Dio Brando s father passes away, a nobleman he saved years earlier agrees to take in Dio and raise him as his own alongside his own son Jonathan Dio s father was a real scumbag and the apple didn t fall far from the tree Dio, if anything, is actually much worse Dio makes it his life goal to torment Jonathan Joestar, a young man who wants to be a true gentleman, and take his family for everything it s worth There s also a stone mask that has vampiric qualities that ma [...]

    14. Struggling between and 2 and a 3 star Honestly a really really lovely looking book and incredible quality I went into this pretty much blind and I didn t know what to expect and really really didn t like it The art isn t my cup of tea Very exaggerated and i don t know muscular bara came to mind whooooops And the eyes Oh god the eyes But the colour pages really are great I loved how smokey they looked but the writing wasn t anything fantastic, it all was written so stiffly I liked how they talked [...]

    15. This was my first foray into the JoJo manga and it was interesting, to say the least The art style is pretty unique, even if the anatomy is crazytown, and I can appreciate the big buff dudes all over the place The villain is very evil right out of the gate and the hero comes off as bratty until later on in the book when he grew on me The story is interesting, but the dialogue leaves much to be desired. There s a lot of bad stuff that goes on in this book and it s not for the faint of heart, but [...]

    16. What a read To be honest I had no idea what I should expect from this book but I have a bad feeling that I will have to read all 8 parts of it It was really action packed and there were some really epic scenes DIO is an awesome and hilarious villain and I also like the first JoJo The characters are drawn in a strange way but its stylish However the background and the color pages are absolutely beautiful on several cases I am really curious what this is all about and I cannot wait until my next v [...]

    17. better than attack on titan Its been along time since a book has held my interest this much its pretty much like the manga equivalent of a medium rare steak even though i know it feels like a 4 star book, its just i couldnt put it down i dont think i d ever associate with the fanbase but i would recomend this book to people who are okay with weird over the top art styles and i also think the kinda message is pretty well put together dont be that guy, dont be a dick, dont devote your life to maki [...]

    18. I love this series I m new to it and I ve only seen some parts of the anime, but I love it I m becoming obsessed by each part I see This manga is the very first of the series It was first published in 1986, in Japan The artwork reflects this era of style I used to not care for it but now I appreciate it for what it is and how it s changed It s perfect for the story and the parts that were colored were fantastic Some bits were campy and too funny considering how dramatic it was A great classic m [...]

    19. This came upon high recommendation from a library worker at the Downtown Library She s crazy about this series, and made it sound really interesting. So, I had it held, checked it out, and tried reading it I just couldn t get into it at all But, I must say that I like the orange tinted color scheme of the art.

    20. This is a very unique story that sometimes sacrifices character and world building for style and shock but its definitely worth checking out, from what I understand it gets a lot better as the story goes on, this was a very interesting jumping off point for a narrative to begin with.

    21. One of the Greatest Thriller Horror Shonen Manga s of all times JoJo s Bizarre Adventure, what can I say about this series its full of greatness action weird and Bizarre and A awesome series if your a fan of Shonen manga check it out JoJo

    22. This comic is seriously nuts, and I kind of love it I m reading the second volume now, and it s crazy enough that I ll probably even write a blog about it, like I used to do.

    23. Centuries ago in Mexico, an offshoot of the Aztecs discovered a method of attaining eternal life through the consumption of human blood They ruled supreme for a while, then abruptly vanished from the pages of history One of their mysterious stone masks was excavated in the latter half of the Nineteenth Century, and made its way to Britain There, it became the catalyst that altered the fate of two young men and their descendants. In 1868, lower class ne er do well Dario Brando was returning home f [...]

    25. JoJo s Bizarre Adventure Part 1 Phantom Blood by Hirohiko Araki was written in the late 1980 s and started the series which is still being written today and has become what Hirohiko Araki is most known for I personally really enjoyed this and consider it worth reading The series is fictional with elements of the supernatural and follows a young man named Jonathan throughout his journey to train in the art of hamon, a special power that few can master, in order to defeat his adopted brother Dio w [...]

    28. I m not sure whether I want to give this 3 stars or 4, because it doesn t feel like something new to me any I watched the Jojo anime last October or November or December part 1 and part 2 anyway , and the story and characters are just embedded in my brain now, like they ve always been there Honestly, Hirohiko Araki s story of Jojo is amazing, it s just less so the second time around But it s still great taking a trip down memory lane as some would say And there are a few SLIGHT differences from [...]

    29. Given the pacing of Phantom Blood as a whole, I feel it was a good decision for this edition to go past the end of the original first volume to the moment where Dio finally goes full villain, since it s the last steps to that point that mark the transition from Victorian Drama prologue to the balls to the wall crazy supernatural bullshit of the entire rest of the series It s a much better cliffhanger, too you know one part of what s going to happen next, but what about all the other parts How ca [...]
