    1. Wow This is action packed from page one, and the reader is instantly thurst into murder, suspense, and intrigue James is just a normal guy who thinks he has a normal life Until the murder of his wife He s forced on a journey from the UK to Italy to find her killers, and finds himself in the midst of a powerful Italian family, the hunt for precious works of art, and danger at every turn The writing gives you the feel of actually being in Italy you can taste and smell it The plot is action packed [...]

    2. Seb Kirby s Take No More is what I like to think of as the traditional thriller which, as he himself has said, pits the ordinary man against great odds and thereby proves that person is certainly not ordinary. The plot works around stolen art works and the possibility of many being hidden under layers of other works either by the original artists or by people hoping to hide them Collectors would pay millions for well known ones but of course if they can get away with murdering instead, that is fa [...]

    3. Dear Seb, I really enjoyed my read of Take no More I enjoyed the setting in Italy and I liked the way you linked your story around the murder mystery and the main topic, which was the hunt for missing paintings, and the main protagonist looking for his lost love Take no More is a very good read, well plotted and together with the twists and turns, and some horrible ruthless criminals me enthralled from beginning to end.Well done and good luck with this.Faith

    4. Not terribly impressed The topics, murder, Europe, Michelangelo are right up my alley but the story wasn t presented well Didn t really care much for the characters except for the twin relationship.

    6. A nice afternoon read but I found it predictable.I would have loved to have seen the lost art and stolen masterpieces idea developed How and where did the villain get the paintings for instance, what happened to them during the missing years Some of the ideas were tv cliffhanger revelations and a little hard to swallow in this scenario of crime thriller story There were quite a few underdeveloped subplots that would have added to the sense of depth if they had been focused on Overall I thoug [...]

    7. I wanted to like Seb Kirby s book, but I found it completely unbelievable. An ordinary man, swept up in a crime He has information which he keeps to himself despite the fact that he hopes it could help to find his wife s killer He doesn t give the information to the police but sets off on his own trail. He ends up by instructing the police in Italy in how to find the culprit And they obey him It is not the first book in which I have found the hero character leading the police around, but I can nev [...]

    10. First in the James Blake series, see s Blake s perfect life shattered, as he returns home to find his wife dead, apparently from a home invasion As Blake struggles to come to terms with her death, he becomes the prime suspect, so he sets out to find the truth This is an okay book, that moves between the present for Blake, as he searches for answers and then fills in gaps from the previous days following his wife s story It did seem to be wrapped up a bit to easily at the end, but will be interes [...]

    12. Take No More by Seb Kirby has the international intrigue, settings, and plot twists to make broad comparisons to a Dan Brown novel But unfortunately that s where the likeness starts to fade Set in London, England and Florence, Italy, James Blake returns home to find his wife Julia dead in their apartment It is catchy opening, but his emotional trauma is bumped aside by some leap of logic that they Why they killed her and only he can crack the case by going to Florence because of a mysterious mes [...]

    13. Take No More by Seb Kirby is a wonderful book by a promising author From the first pages Take No More held me enthralled and it delivered on every promise it made It is a rich story set a complex tapestry of characters and setting. My only complaint about Take No More is that twice it managed to break the suspension of disbelief necessary to fiction Both incidents involved the name of one of the main characters In the first instance it was a simple misspelling a case where obviously the writer ha [...]

    14. Take No More by Author Seb Kirby is one great, suspenseful novel It grabbed my interest right at the onset by starting off with a mysterious murder.James Blake is the number one suspect in what is believed to be, the murder of his wife, Julia He is driven to solve this crime out of love for his deceased wife He defies the legal system in London and makes his way to Florence, Italy to retrace her last steps in order to make some sense of her untimely death The information he gleans from her encr [...]

    16. I quite liked this but didn t love it I did feel that there were some elements which jarred a bit about DNA which Hendricks took pride in thinking to check would, I m almost sure, have been checked as standard by any forensics lab in the case of murder I m thinking of the latter one not the first one but don t want to say so as not to spoil it There was another point when the plot was in first person narrative when he says what Zella is thinking, yet would not have known this if something is in [...]

    17. Structured by time and place, part I of TAKE NO MORE occurs Friday to Sunday in London The rest occur in Florence Part II occurs six days earlier part III four days later part IV six days earlier part V four days later So right away you realize how the author goes back and forth in time, challenging you to piece this puzzle together. When the protagonist, James Blake, finds his wife murdered, he starts piecing together her work for a dangerous Italian family For him, this is both an intellectual [...]

    18. A great story, with some unexpected twists, quite different from the usual murder mystery I was expecting I loved the London setting which quickly led the main character towards a trail in Florence with the hint of a rare masterpiece at the heart of the mystery along with the involvement of an organised crime family, this very quickly had me hooked So much so, I couldn t wait to pick it up again.I liked the way the development of the story flipped between characters and found it easy to follow T [...]

    19. Mr Kirby has written a noir ish mystery thriller which will suck you into the seamy underworld of intrigue and passion Set mostly in Florence, you will wander the streets with James as he tries to track down the murderer of his wife As a suspect himself, he must rely on his own wits as he becomes embroiled in the world of a crime lord. The story leads you through several twists and turns The characters are well drawn, and the descriptions of the settings are impeccable You quickly realize Mr Kirb [...]

    20. James Blake arrived home one day to find his wife, Julia, murdered Apparently, no motive And this is just the beginning of his problems, as he becomes the first, main suspect and only suspect So, he decides to look for her killer And discovers that it might not have been Julia in their flat Impossible, as he saw his wife s body lying in a pool of blood But, if true, who is this mysterious doppelg nger From London to Italy, James and his brother Miles look for clues and discover that that world o [...]

    21. What a tremendous start to a new series and a debut novel to boot This book has just about everything you could possibly expect in a great novel The opening chapter is perfectly delivered to grab you, keep your attention and leave you with a need to know about the tragedy that has just unfolded I was soon totally engrossed in the whole book which travelled between the U.K Florence and Venice, dipping and delving into forgotten and missing art and the seedy world of two very old Italian families [...]

    22. This is an outstanding debut novel by Seb Kirby. He captivates the reader from the first page, and remains gripping and compelling throughout.I could not put this book down.Listed under Murder,Mystery and Thriller but so much than that. The geography of London and Florence was handled very well to add richness to the novel, alongside the Authors obvious love and knowledge of the art world. In addition to this, the reader is taken into the Italian underworld weaving a web of corruption, deceit, secret [...]

    23. Murder thrillers are not always my favourite subjects, except when the plot is very well elaborated and maintains a fast pace Add to this good Queen s English, which is the case in this novel Take No More transported me to the likes of a CSI International TV show No doubts about its believability. Now, on an editorial comment, I am very curious about some technical aspects or, I dare to call, punctuation liberties For example, was used instead of in the dialogues A long _____ replaced the when wr [...]

    24. Take no , is a great read, and l like it because the Author hasn t wasted anytime, he has gone straight into the plot, where his character James Blake comes home to find his wife has been shot, and is asking himself , who and why, his wife is hired to find out where there are fine arts that are hidn t over another painting, and used a laservto detect them, so Jim sets out to find her killer, not knowing the danger that may come along, l like the suspence and the twists the story, l will leave it [...]

    26. Take no reA mystery of murder, international intrigue, the art world, and illegal dumping of toxic waste Another new author for me and must say Seb Kirby had me hooked.

    27. Take No More by Seb Kirby is a fast paced thriller about murder, corruption, and art, and is set in London and Florence James Blake finds his wife Julia, an art conservator, murdered in their apartment and sets out to find her killer Julia left him one clue to go on a text message that read help me with an attachment showing Michelangelo s painting Leda and the Swan The main character was very relatable and likeable But what I liked most about this book was that the author surprised me when I m [...]

    28. Having a brief conversation with the lovely Ignite about the book, I agreed with her on the fact that this book would make an amazing movie So that s how I ll review it This book has all the ingredients that you would expect in a fast paced Thriller, with suspense, action, and a plot that skilfully brings together people who wouldn t have had anything to do with each other otherwise, through some really interesting twists You want those things in a good movie Here, you have them in a book.As a r [...]

    29. The book started with a murder James came home to find his wife murdered A wife that had been working out of town for the last 6 monthsa wife he wasn t certain of when was going to return I am about 1 3 of the way through the book and it is getting very confusing Changing people, places, etc I will keep reading a little to see if it straightens out Finished the book but was not extremely pleased with the ending Just didn t make the wow factor usually achieved when finishing a book.

    30. This was the perfect book for a weekend retreat. From the opening chapter where James Banks wife is murdered. You are literally thrown into a slippery slope down and around through so many twists and unexpected turns you need a seatbelt The underworld of Italy and the politics if the art world all muddy the waters. All the different characters play important parts it was never hard to keep track of the what ,who where, and when but the Why was a surprise
