    1. This story was so compelling, and the writing so gripping I have always been utterly baffled by the Duke of Buckingham s behaviour after having been so well rewarded and trusted by his cousin, King Richard III This wonderful book gives readers a whole believable background rationale illuminating Buckingham s point of view, in a real feat of imaginative empathy by the author I now feel that I can start to see how he would behave as he did We will never know really what went on in his mind, but th [...]

    2. I meant to review this right after I read it but have been very busy and am rushed currently so I can t say all I d like to.The writing is extremely colorful I was delighted immediately with it, so much so that I actually re read parts on my first go round out of sheer enjoyment of the language, which is something I very very rarely do There s a lot of humor and the author manages to capture a very realistic feeling and somewhat sympathetic portrayal of a figure who has typically been portrayed [...]

    3. A most e excellent storyThis book about the Duke of Buckingham and his betrayal of Richard III ,will capture and draw you into this tale until you feel as a voyeur on a most excellent journey And even if you have read other accounts about the betrayal, this storyline feels new , interesting and informative A most excellent story.

    4. After Mistress to the Crown I expected better of this book Somehow it just didn t meet the mark The characters were less believable and the storyline itself didn t ensnare me as did the telling of Mistress Shore s story So disappointingly three stars is the most I can award.
