    1. Hilarious, sweet, romantic and touching, this book is absolutely delightful Sophie wants her 33rd year of life to be better than the years before She wants to take charge and make something of her life She decides to tell her best friend, Sam, her true feelings for him But when she reads an e mail from him that says he s found the perfect girl and they re going out on Valentine s Day, Sophie s shock ends up putting her in the emergency room with a broken arm From there, it s just one thing after [...]

    2. 33 Valentines is a well written, nicely paced romantic story with a lot of depth There s a compelling element of mystery to this story, too, with questions posed from the very beginning why does Sophie hate February, and particularly Valentine s Day, so much How did her life get so off track Stephanie Monahan has a knack for giving us little morsels of information at just the right time, filling us in on bits of the characters pasts that help us see where they re coming from I ended up liking th [...]

    3. I could really relate to this book, although I have different reasons for disliking Valentines Day and February Loved it

    4. Originally posted at Romance Around the CornerWhat a mixed bag this book was I have a thing for unrequited love stories where the heroine is in love with her best friend, but he doesn t know it and already has a girlfriend or starts dating someone else It s probably because a long time ago this happened to me, but I didn t get a happy ending, so I really enjoy the part where the heroine gets the guy, but even the part where the guy dumps the other woman Clearly, I have issues So yeah, once I re [...]

    5. Sophie is a red hot mess She has loved her best friend, Sam, for quite a while, but she is afraid to tell him Just when she thinks she has the courage to do so, he tells her he has found the girl of his dreams To Sophie, nothing could hurt worse than imagining she missed her chance with Sam Now things are awkward between them, and she makes mistake after mistake as another terrible February drags on In order to gain control of her life, she will need to make some decisions about where she is goi [...]

    6. Sophie begins her least favorite month in just the way she should expect, in the emergency room with a broken left arm And of course wouldn t you know it she s left handed, she had always taken pride being left handed Now as if the impeding Valentine s Day wasn t enough she s been sidelined with a casted broken arm Maybe her best friend Sam could help if she would just get the nerve to own up to him how she is in love with him But isn t that how she got the broken arm to begin with reading a stu [...]

    7. Awww I had to finish it today I ll write my rewiew tomorrow But I have to say that I m very happy that Sam broke up with Megan before the issue with Mery Ann and going back with Sophie even if he thought she wanted him as a friend obviously he was mistaken lol Good night readers PS I wish I know about Dylan I falled for him too far Ok, here I go, A fiend of mine recomended this book to me, so I put it in my to read list, I thought it was the same old story about anti valentine girls, so it took [...]

    8. It s weird to say I really liked this book a strong 4.5 rating , but at the same time I think I had a lump in my throat and a box of Kleenexes that I liberally used for than 3 4 of the story The beginning immediately captured me with Sophie s humor and wit I loved her close friendship with Sam My heart bled for how lost she was and so much happened to her during a few years all in the month of February Then everyone started moving on and telling her directly or indirectly she needed to let the [...]

    9. 33 Valentines starts out with a painful event for Sophie she trips getting off of the bus and breaks her arm But as the story progresses, you find out that she s equally as wounded that her best friend Sam who she s realized she s in love with has found his dream girl She s convinced that the curse of February has struck again We follow her through the shortest month of the year as she catalogs the memories of past Februaries in her mind to try to figure out what her problem is, and eventually w [...]

    10. You know a book is going to be funny when the opening scene is the heroine in the ER with a broken arm An arm that she broke while reading an email from a guy she invited to dinner.Yup.And things just don t get better for the poor girl, at least not right away.I think everyone has a month like Sophie does Mine is October If I could skip that month I would.I loved the characters and their development Sophie was just so fun even though she was miserable a good portion of the time, what with the gu [...]

    11. 33 Valentines is a fun, smart story set in Boston during the gloomy month of February Sophie hates February and Valentine s Day, but not for the usual reasons a person might dislike a winter month or sappy holiday When she finds out Sam, her best friend and dream guy, has a date on Valentine s Day with someone he describes as his dream girl, she thinks things can t get worse Any good reader knows that as soon as it seems like things can t get worse, they do.Sophie is a charming character She s w [...]

    12. I received a copy of 33 Valentines by Stephanie Monahan in exchange for an honest review I adored this book I liked that we didn t get Sophie s full story right away, but I didn t find it annoying at all that we kept getting little hints and clues to her past, which unfortunately can happen sometimes with that type of writing It kept my interest high and I was always cheering for Sophie I can also sometimes get a bit annoyed when we it s so obvious boy needs to be with girl, and can get unintere [...]

    13. I really enjoyed reading 33 Valentines I started at the end of a long, New England blizzard weekend My only regret was I started too late so I couldn t finish it before I had to go back to work Stephanie Monahan writes with wit, a little bit of snark, and vivid descriptions so it is very easy to step into the world and feelings of Sophie I loved the details with which she saw and thus, I as the reader saw, Sam Both Sophie and Sam, as well as the cast of supporting characters are very real, well [...]

    14. I totally loved this book Sophie and Sam made a perfect couple, though it took some time for them to realize that And I ve always wondered about this new phenomenon of Valentine s Day Hate it s just an innocent little holiday, right But poor Sophie has had a run of bad luck each February, so I can t really blame her Maybe that expression April is the cruelest month should be changed At least in Sophie s case If you like friends to lovers stories with lots of snappy dialogue, this book s for you. [...]

    15. So my smut loving friends, there is no sex in this one But if you are up for a sweet, romantic love story with a funny undertone This is for you The book starts in the current day and as the story unfolds, you get pieces of history as to the story of 33 Valentines At times you want to reach into the book and hug or shake some sense into Sophie as does Sam But in the end you will love all of the characters and this quirky love story about turning your life, or just the month of February, around

    16. When I was received an email asking me if I would like to read Stephanie Monahan s novel 33 Valentines it didn t take me long to say yes It s not often that I ll read a book based solely on its synopsis usually it s the cover or the author but the synopsis for 33 Valentines really convinced me that I wanted to read the book I loved the sound of it I too despise valentines day although Sophie s reasons are a lot sound than mine I just feel it s become such a commercial holiday and I just plain o [...]

    17. Saying that Sophie doesn t care for February is a bit like saying that it can get a little hot in Texas over the summer If Sophie had her way, February would be removed from the calendar, and January would fade directly into March. Her 33rd February gets off to a triumphantly grim start when she finds herself in the emergency room and is followed by other less than spectacular revelations as the month progresses Her grim month becomes even dismal when her best friend, Sam, gets a girlfriendjust [...]

    18. This particular novel frustrated the hell out of me Moreover, the flashbacks in the middle confused me The plot is overall good but I do have complains I do understand what s going on inside the head of the heroine but I completely disagree with how she did things She s so darn slow It s great that she s just 33 years old, what if she s already 60 years old Life is too short to have regrets Yeah, she should go for what she wants, not staying in her darn cocoon It s good that she s considerate, b [...]

    19. This book was the perfect Valentine s Day read Sophie is an amazing lead character and I just felt so bad for her as she struggled to find even ground in her hectic life She s the type of girl you just want to be friends with, and I loved seeing her get her happily ever after. This novel is equal parts laugh out loud funny and completely endearing Despite the strong romantic comedy feel of this book, it is actually also quite deep in terms of backstory and setup for the featured relationship Neve [...]

    20. It was a story about a women who needs to make changes and move on Sophie had alot of flashbacks during the book When I first started to read I didn t really like Sophie s personality but later I felt bad for her and wanted her to have a happy ending This book was clean but had a lot of language I didn t care for.

    21. I like it for the angst and the family storyline made me tear up a bit, but the heroine was a little to ridiculous sometimes I feel bad for Dylan.

    22. Loved the characters Could relate to them and that made them seem real, not all perfect and imaginary.
