    1 thought on “Winter Interlude

    1. Sweet story There were some parts of the plot line I found confusing, like whether Paul and Judith were actually dating or not they were talking about marriage but Judith kept saying the were just friends I also had a hard time with the idea that Kate could want to marry James one day but be in love with Paul the next However, it was a unique plot line, which I appreciated Good, but not great read.

    2. Objectively I can say this was not a terrible book, but I sure had a terrible time slogging through it repetitious, wordy, and redundant, my English Comp teacher would say under her red C I really found nothing to like about these boring, poorly developed, unpleasant stereotypes pushy control freak, selfish and avoidant Peter Pan, even selfish and mechanical ice princess, and insecure and caustic prick and felt nothing for them, least of all any romantic chemistry I really couldn t care about t [...]

    3. I really enjoyed this story I was a little impatient in the beginning for the story to really get going but once the H h finally began their journey of discovery, I couldn t put it down A lot of feelings were explored throughout this book and a lot of self discovery took place among the characters I really enjoy a story where the H h have known each other quite a while and have a very rocky relationship not mean and nasty, but definitely having friction It s so much fun to be part of their awake [...]

    4. Didn t finish after page 88 I really tried to at least get through this book I ve been reading a bunch of free cheap books on my nook and they ve all been the same disappointment This one is no different sadly For starters, I hate when the love interests are rude to eachother all the time I do like an unexpected love, but it needs to be done carefully This wasn t the worst I ve seen though so I tried to get through it But after awhile I finally just had to start skimming through because this boo [...]

    5. This is a cozy, sweet romance about Kate, a woman who is ready to take the next step with her commitment phobic boyfriend James She comes up with a plan to force the issue on a long ski weekend with her best friend Judith and Judith s on again off again boyfriend who also happens to be James younger brother Paul James and Judith both end up working, leaving Kate and Paul all alone in a cozy ski cabin for the long weekend The pair have never liked each other They constantly take pot shots and tra [...]

    6. This book could have benefited from another editing pass or two.The two main people often mirror each others thoughts and it gets repetitive There is too much time spent on skiing and other mundanities The banter and flirting was awkward to the point of not even being flirty banter Hey do you want some of this dinner I cooked OMG did she just flirt with me Stop it HEr flirty language is so inappropriate but it s turning me on And I m like WHAT FLIRTY LANGUAGE I ll ignore the sudden weekend attra [...]

    7. I really enjoyed this book It was somewhat predictable but the author s writing pulled me in I could feel the emotions of all of her characters especially Kate Paul I felt like she did a great job not skipping over or rushing the scenes or emotions It really helped connect with the story and characters I felt myself really cheering on for all of the characters I enjoyed the heartfelt story and decided to buy the second book Second book is almost complete I love the author even .

    8. I gave up on this book due to a vastly differing worldview that made it almost painful to read The main storyline is heroine is upset because her little sister is getting married before she is, so she pushes her boyfriend of seven years to commit, and when he doesn t seem willing, tries out his brother instead Maybe a couple of hundred years ago, marriage was so important for the survival of a woman that it was worth messing up relationships for, but I don t really think it is any .The writing i [...]

    9. Winter interlude is a slow, easy story about two people who find that rather than disliking each other as they always believed, when forced to spend time in close proximity, there are sparks flying everywhere Problem is she s his brother s girlfriend and he s always loved her best friends A weekend in Tahoe can lead some surprising happenings as everyone s comfortable existence is threatened.

    10. Sandy Loyd has a knack for delivering the messy, twisted, emotional ups and downs that make up real life Trying to find the right person to spend one s life with isn t always easy and neat, nor is it a simple matter of choice Winter Interlude gives us the good, the bad, and the ugly of it, and you ll find yourself drawn to the characters.WARNING Do NOT start reading this book late at night unless you plan to sleep in the next day.

    11. Sandy Loyd s Winter Interlude is a romance novel that makes a great weekend read Kate finds herself stuck in a sky resort with her boyfriend s brother Paul, who happens to be dating her BFF Circumstances keep the other two from joining them as they had planned, and since Kate and Paul can hardly stand each other, they focus on the skiing until they get snowed in I really enjoyed this book and definitely want to check out of Sandy Loyd s novels.

    12. Sandy packed a lot into this romantic tale The characters reflect people I ve met and known in my own life I enjoyed her treatment of the relationship interactions, even where a couple seemed too fast, too strong Though rare, perhaps, the choices the characters make are believable I can also say that I spent time in the gym than planned because I didn t want to stop reading.

    13. just oktypical romance novel.d I love trash romance booksose it because it was free and a season in the title, but it referred to a name, not the season

    14. This was a good book, it did start out slow but picked up after the second chapter I did enjoy it and had a hard time putting it down once it got going.

    15. This is a good pass the time read With two brothers and two best friends, none of them knowing what they really want most of the time, this is a love quadrangle rather a triangle I was particularly frustrated with the character, Kate and frequently wanted to slap her upside the head It is a quick read but it would have been even shorter if some of the foolishness with Kate making up her mind was cut It is well written and as I said, a good pass the time read.

    16. Overall it was good The first few pages weren t that riveting, and usually I can jump in a little quicker I almost discarded it after the beginning just because I found it a little boring and she came across kind of boring, but it got better I also downloaded this ebook a while back and couldn t remember the description so I wasn t sure in the beginning which guy she was supposed to end up with It took a few chapters to figure it out I never enjoy characters who are in relationships where they a [...]

    17. Entertaining storyI enjoyed this story although I had a problem with some of the relationships changing the way they did It was entertaining though.

    19. I really liked this story I had no problem with characters and keeping track of which person they were with Maybe I m into romance around Valentine s Day Opposites sometimes attract if they give each other a chance and get over putting time and effort of someone who is wrong for them That is the case here I liked the way they discovered each was not what they first thought and gave each other a chance I always like books by this author.

    20. This story is NOT meant to be drama filled with car chases, shocking betrayals, or life threatening action It s simple romance.I enjoyed every minute of reading this book My only complaint is that I didn t want their story to end Some might feel that it was too short and rushed at the end but every writer is different and has their own technique In this book, Sandy left it as short and sweet, a nice compromise if you re in the mood to read a good romance book but don t have all night to read The [...]

    21. For all that Winter Interlude is decidedly average, I was going to be generous and give it 3 Stars because there were no major faults and it was at least well edited something which is far too rare in these indie novels Unfortunately though, the last 1 3 or so killed it for me The characters who were already fairly lifeless and uninteresting waved goodbye to all but the finest shreds of personality, and became just romance novel fodder bumbling idiots who waffle about never having known love un [...]

    22. I got this for free on for a limited time and it s only now I got to review it.I didn t know what to expect based on the mixed reactions in so I read along and I enjoyed it The hero and heroine aren t exactly opposites, but because they re alike in a lot of ways they don t get along.Kate has been hoping for an engagement with long time boyfriend James, while his brother Paul has been waiting for a confirmation of sorts from Kate s best friend Judith. Some barbs hurt and it s in these banters that [...]

    23. This is my first book by Sandy and I must say it was amazing I felt so many different emotions throughout the story that it kept me involved I had moments that I wanted to cry, scream, laugh, and a few moments of wanting to slap someone across the back of the head Great story, relatable characters, love, tears and laughter This is a perfect enemies to lovers stor Well done, Sandy

    24. Kate and James have been together for eight years She is ready to settle down but James has commitment issues So the planned ski trip to Tahoe is Kate s last stand Either they go the next step or Kate can t see continuing their relationship One problem, her best friend, Judith and her boy friend, Paul will be going up there too Paul is James brother and Kate can t stand him They are always tossing bards at each other James has a meeting so Kate will have to drive up with Judith Paul After Paul p [...]

    25. I got this book a while ago and it was on my TBR list I just finished reading it and found it to be very good winter reading even though it is not winter This book gave new meaning to He s my best friends boyfriend and She belongs to my brother It just shows that if you just talk and let people know that you have questions or afraid of hurting someone or that you need time information it would be all the better I love the banter between them and they just make you want to smack them upside the [...]

    26. I liked this book It was an easy read and held my interest right from the beginning This is about a couplePaul and Kate Paul has been putting all his efforts in dating Kates best friend and hasn t been having any luck at all Kate has been dating Pauls brother for almost as long as Paul and her best friend but Kates boyfriend only ever sees her as his best friend Pauls girlfriend only sees Paul as her best friend Now Paul and Kate do NOT like each other at all But, they get stranded up at a ski r [...]

    27. A great story about learning how to trust, trust your heart and trust your judgement leads to a endearing love story One that will take you from San Francisco s busy streets to the snow packed Tahoe When a snow storm leads to the electric going out, sparks start flying Kate and Paul have to learn to trust themselves This story is very well developed with so many twists and turns Throw in two workaholics and you have the makings of a great story The cast of characters are so wonderful you just wa [...]
