    1. WOW Ruby Dawn McKinney has grown up in many foster homes, but not feeling as though she fitted in anywhere, spent most of her free hours on the street Now a doctor, Ruby has set up a medical clinic to provide free care to the street children of the worst part of San Diego She wanders the streets in the evenings looking out for the homeless and providing them with care One evening she comes across the body of her 1st love Tom Masters, shot and losing a lot of blood she gets him to the ER, saving [...]

    2. Review posted on my blog 3 1 2012 christianbookshelfreviews4.5 starsRuby Dawn is the first book I ve read by Raquel Byrnes I ve wanted to read her other novel, Purple Knot, for a while and want to read it even after finishing this book I really enjoyed Ruby Dawn and aside from some typos I found the entire book to be enjoyable The story was gripping and I found myself caring very much about what would happen to Ruby and Tom.In Ruby Dawn, occasionally the time would switch from present day back [...]

    3. I loved Purple Knot book 1 , so I was looking forward to reading this one Although not as good as the first, I still enjoyed it I look forward to reading books by this author.

    4. What an intense, well developed suspense I felt immediate compassion for, and rooted for Ruby D and Tom to get the bad guy and come to terms with their emotions Wow, quite the ride.

    5. She was named after the way the morning sky looked on the day that she was found, a beautiful Ruby Dawn She was only eight when she believes her life began because she doesn t remember the life she had before that Living in foster home after foster home until the one person who was going to promise her a new life, died tragically in a car accident Now she spent the remainder of her time in Dresden Heights Detention Center until she could begin life outside on her own instead of being a ward of t [...]

    6. I enjoy suspense, but the edge contemporary stuff is not what I usually reach for in a read I like to escape into other places and time and enjoy a good romance and adventure When I picked up Ruby Dawn I had no idea what to expect What I did not realize is that I was going to read nonstop until my Kindle battery died The 15% warning popped up and I ignored it well into the night to keep turning the page until it took it upon itself to leave me in complete darkness But wait What happens next I ve [...]

    7. When Ruby Dawn s foster mother dies and she lands back in the foster care system, Tom Masters, another teen hardened by foster care becomes her knight in shining armor Circumstances pull them apart and they meet up again as adults, Ruby is a doctor managing a free clinic and Tom is a cop.The story starts with a bang and as Ruby tries to hold tight to her dream of the clinic and deal with past wounds from a man who stole her heart, trouble follows her and Tom.I loved these two characters and it s [...]

    8. Once I started reading, I couldn t put the book down until I had finished I liked the author s technique of interspersing Ruby s past history with the current situation The reader slowly learns why Ruby and Tom have such a strong connection.

    9. This was a good story i liked how the story moved at a nice pace The characters were easy to like hate The story wasn t as good as the first one I read I loved that one Purple Knot I felt like I had already read this one.

    10. I loved the rich characters and detail of this book So realistic and suspenseful Off to buy Blue Bayou
