Although I loved to read about Alice James life, full of mental and physical illnesses, her strange relationships with her famous brothers and her friendship or partnership with her best friend Katherine, as a whole I cannot rate it any higher than three stars The novel made me very curious though and I guess it might be interesting to read her own memoirs than this novel based on her memoirs The James family was no average American family, that is for sure and their issues with madness and del [...]

    2. It took ages for me to get into this book But after I d finished, say, 80% it became good Felt like a lot of back story but got there in the end
