    1. I wanted to like this book because I m fascinated by dissociative identity disorder DID The human brain is absolutely amazing in how it can develop ways of allowing individuals to cope with severe trauma.Unfortunately, this book was almost unreadable for a few reasons First, Ms Rosen seemed to pour a jug of commas over the entire book so that they ended up in random places in sentences And then commas were missing from places where they were not optional if the proper meaning was to be maintaine [...]

    2. A brilliant story which tugs at your heartstringsThomas Emerson Walling is an excellent engineer and upstanding citizen, a loving father and compassionate friend at least most of the time There are days or nights , however, when his everyday life is taken over by one of three men mentally challenged, obsessive, compulsive Henry, aggressive Chuck, lewd and fashion conscious Louis or by Eleanor, a raunchy southern belle, and these four alters play havoc with his mind Thomas Walling has a mental di [...]

    3. A Bold UndertakingA bold undertaking, My Four Fathers Eleanor addresses the uniqueness of a family s life centered around Multiple Personality Disorder or Dissociative Identity Disorder as it is now called Thomas Walling has three male personalities Chuck, Louis, and Henry and one female personality Eleanor After years of being treated by Dr Pope who managed to keep these multiple personalities at bay so that Thomas could lead a normal life, Thomas is thrown into a new world when Dr Pope dies a [...]

    4. This is a story of a man with Multiple Personality Disorder, seen through the eyes of his daughter. It was a bitter sweet tale It made me laugh out loud in places and it was sad in others It focussed on the life of this man who shared his head with four other people It also focussed on the impact his illness had on the people around him I followed each character closely and by the end it seemed like they were old friends. It was also a very moving book and I am not ashamed to say I was in floods o [...]

    5. Thomas Emerson Walling s adult life, as narrated by his daughter Sarah, will grip you from the beginning The author does a great job with bringing to life the two main characters, and sprinkles in the other entities that takes over Thomas life. From the first page through the last word the author takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride You will laugh, worry, be slightly scared, and you will cry And, be forewarned, you will need some tissue, and possibly time to take some breaks from reading, [...]

    6. I had really high hopes for this book, but it basically felt flat for me I found the premise of the story fascinating, and still think it had such potential Ultimately though, I felt that the story being told from the daughter s POV was so awkward at times it ruined large portions of the book for me It just wasn t credible, and often made no sense, to hear his story told in her words So while I give a lot of credit for the subject matter, the flaws made this book just okay for me I wish I had li [...]

    7. I was fortunate to receive this books in a First Reads Giveaway I thought it was intriguing to read the story from a child s point of view about her father with DID However, I found it confusing to switch between first and third person and I wish the author had chosen one point of view The beginning may seem a little slow and awkward, but stick with it The story gets better and you grow attached to the characters I really loved the ending of the book and despite some unbelievable events, it was [...]

    8. Tackling a huge topic, but done so well, with tenderness, humanity and at times humour Three Men and a Baby, move over and inject a bit of black comedy to the mix Take a look at the publisher s blog roundfire books blogs roun for a free read of chapter 1.
